Channel holy energy through sword to inflict damage.Final Fantasy Tactics description
Northswain's Strike (北斗骨砕打, Hokuto Kotsusai Da?, lit. North Star Bone-Crushing Strike), also known as Crush Punch, is a recurring ability in the series. It is a powerful ability used by high-leveled Knights, and has mostly been associated with Agrias Oaks and Delita Heiral.
Seven shadows cast, seven fates foretold. Yet at the end of the broken path lies death, and death alone.Activation quote
When Agrias uses the attack, she traps one of the three alliances in Halidom crystals, after using Cleansing Strike to remove one of the other alliances from the battle. She then summons many flying knights, who aim the attack at each of the trapped players. The remaining alliance must break the Halidoms to free the players before Northswain's Strike hits.
The Thunder God uses the attack as one of the possible results of his T.G. Holy Sword attack. This version of the attack has him perform a spinning slash, covering a large portion of the arena directly surrounding him.
The doom of a planet... Crush Punch!Activation quote (PS)
Northswain's Strike is an ability used by the Holy Knight, Rune Knight, and Sword Saint classes, learned for 500 JP. It activates instantly and has a range of 3 (but no vertical range), and inflicts Holy-elemental damage and KO to one target.
The seven ride, their shadow falls. None can escape unyielding fate!Activation quote
Northswain's Strike is both a Soul Break that can be obtained for Delita, and an attack used by various enemies in the Final Fantasy Tactics realm, such as Wiegraf Folles. Delita's Soul Break version deals 4 long-ranged attacks to all targets in battle, and temporarily lowers their Attack stat by 50%. The version used by enemies is a simple attack that can hit one or all allies, depending on the fight.
Non-Final Fantasy appearancesEdit
Agrias is a unit with the unique ability Northswains Strike, which at max level gives her an additional 4 damage on attacks for three turns, as well as 50% chance to instantly defeat the unit it attacked during this time.
- The concept of Northswain's Strike's additional instant death effect refers to the Chinese deity of Northern Dipper associated with death whose role is similar to that of the Grim Reaper.
