"Noctis" (stylized as "NOCTIS") is a theme in Final Fantasy XV. It was composed by Yoko Shimomura and arranged by Shimomura and Shota Nakama.
It is the character theme of Noctis Lucis Caelum.

"Noctis" plays at the title screen after completing the story. It is track 62 on the Final Fantasy XV: Original Soundtrack.
"Moonlit Melodies" (夜に満ちる律べ, Yoru ni Michiru Ritsu be?, lit. Night Full of Rhythms) is an arrangement by Yoko Shimomura where she interpolated "Luna" into "Noctis", orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano. It plays in the credits of the Royal Edition and Windows Edition. It is track 84 on disc 1 of the Final Fantasy XV Original Soundtrack Volume 2.

"NOCTIS - Those Who Follow" (NOCTIS ~遺志を継ぐ者~, NOCTIS ~Ishi o Tsugu Mono~?, lit. NOCTIS ~Those Who Follow One's Last Wishes~) is an arrangement by Yoshitaka Suzuki that plays in the final cutscene where Noctis, Gladiolus Amicitia, Prompto Argentum, and Ignis Scientia discuss about the Glaives' effort throughout the long night at Hammerhead. It is track 46 on disc 1 of the Final Fantasy XV Original Soundtrack Volume 2.
An arrangement of "Noctis", "Shield of the King" (Gladiolus's theme), "Home Sweet Home" (Prompto's theme), "EPISODE IGNIS - The Main Theme" (Ignis's theme), and "Choosing Hope" plays in the Comrades: Departure mission. The track has not been officially released.

Piano Collections Final Fantasy XV Concert[]
"Serenade Fantastique for Piano -NOCTIS-" was performed live for the concert in 2017. The pianist for the Tokyo performance in May was Yui Morishita (Duke of Pianeet) and the pianist for the Osaka performance June was Hiroyuki Nakayama. The recording from the Osaka performance on June 2, 2017 was released in disc 2 on the Blu-ray disc version of the Final Fantasy XV Original Soundtrack Volume 2.
"Moonlit Melodies" was performed as the encore of the concert. It was also recorded and released on the original soundtrack.

A piano solo of "Moonlit Melodies" was arranged and performed by Yoko Shimomura and uploaded on her official channel.[1] It is a sketch version of "Moonlit Melodies" from the Royal Edition before its official arrangement, titled "-Version d'esquisses-". Before the official title was decided, it was called "NOCTIS and LUNA".

Noctis is the genitive singular form of the Latin word nox meaning "night".
