Etymology[]

Noah is a Hebrew masculine name (נֹחַ Nṓaḥ), meaning "rest" or "repose". In Abrahamic religions, Noah was the tenth and last of the pre-flood Patriarchs famous for the story of Noah's Ark.

Noah is also a Hebrew feminine name (נֹעָה Nōʿā́) with a different etymology, meaning "movement". In the Book of Exodus, Noah was the name of one of the five Daughters of Zelophehad.
