Causes Non-elemental damage to the enemy.
Final Fantasy IX description
No Mercy (雑魚散らし or 雑魚ちらし, Zako Chirashi?, lit. Small Fry Scatter) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is a Limit Break for Seifer Almasy, but sometimes appears as a regular non-elemental ability.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy VIII[]
No Mercy is Seifer's Limit Break during the time he is playable during the Siege of Dollet. Seifer casts a fire spell onto the enemies, spins his gunblade around, and starts focusing energy into it. In an upward slash-motion, he launches circular blades of energy at his foe. The blasts fly through the enemies and continue towards the sky, dealing exploding damage on the foes. Despite the fire aesthetic, the attack is non-elemental. His Limit Break's strength is unaffected by the Crisis Level and is treated like a physical attack with the attack power of 80.
Final Fantasy IX[]
No Mercy is an ability usable by Amarant, learned for 25 AP from the Duel Claws and Dragon Claws. It costs 12 MP to use, and deals physical damage to one enemy. The attack's element depends on the element of Amarant's current weapon, but gains no further boost from Elem-Atk boosting equipment. When used in Trance, the damage increase is by around 41% compared to the normal 50% all other abilities get, but targets all enemies.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
No Mercy is a level 2 Gunbreaker action, increasing user's damage dealt by 20% for 20 seconds.
Like other Gunbreaker actions, No Mercy borrows its name from Seifer's Limit Break from Final Fantasy VIII. In addition, the Japanese name of the skill is a reverse localization of the ability's English name and uses the katakana name of No Mercy (ノー・マーシー, Nō Māshī?), as opposed to the original Japanese name of the skill used in Final Fantasy VIII.
