The Ninja Gear (しのびのころも, Shinobi no Koromo?), also known as Ninja Suit, Ninja Uniform, Secret Clothes, Ninja Getup, Shinobi Gear, and Shinobi Garb, is a recurring light armor in the Final Fantasy series. It usually boosts Evasion and Speed.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]

Shinobi Gear is a low-ranked armor that provides 4 Defense, 3 Magic Defense, 50% Evasion, 3% Magic Evasion, and +3 Speed. It it is initially equipped on Edge, and can be bought for 3,500 gil at Eblan, or found at Mount Ordeals (Edge's Tale) or Dwarven Mine Path (Edge's Tale). It can be equipped by everyone except Calca and Brina.

Final Fantasy V[]

Stylish ninja clothing brought from a faraway land.

Description

The Ninja Suit is a clothes type armor piece that gives a +9 Defense, +2 Magic Defense, +1 Speed, and has a Weight of 3. It can be purchased for 3,000 gil at Jachol, Lix, Regole, Quelb, and the Castle of Bal, stolen from Covert, dropped by Page 256, and found in a chest in the Library of the Ancients.

The Ninja Suit can be equipped by Freelancers, Knights, Monks, Thieves, Dragoons, Ninjas, Samurais, Berserkers, Rangers, Mystic Knights, Blue Mages, Red Mages, Beastmasters, Chemists, Dancers, Cannoneers, Gladiators, and Mimes.

Description

Ninja Gear is an initial equip for Shadow, and can also be equipped by Locke, Sabin, Gau, Setzer, and Gogo. The Ninja Gear grants +2 Speed, +32 Magic Defense and +47 Defense. It can be purchased for 1,100 gil at Jidoor, Tzen, Albrook, and Vector in the World of Balance.

Final Fantasy IX[]

The Ninja Gear is a light body armor that grants 35 Defense, +1 Speed level up bonus, and teaches Alert, Locomotion, and Eye 4 Eye. It can be bought in Daguerreo (end of game) for 14,000 gil and stolen from Quale (rare) and Garland (uncommon). It absorbs Shadow damage to the wearer making it good to wear for Ozma and Hades.

Final Fantasy XII[]

The Ninja Gear is a high-ranking light armor. In the original version, it can be equipped after obtaining the Light Armor 9 license. It provides +470 HP, +36 Defense, and +3 Speed. It can be purchased at Balfonheim Port for 9,300 gil.

In the Zodiac versions, it now provides 44 Defense, +470 HP, +4 Speed, and requires the Light Armor 9 license for 70 LP. It can be found as a treasure in the Cerobi Steppe (South Liavell Hills) and Great Crystal (Trahk Jilaam Praa'dii) and stolen from Gespenst (3% chance). It can be equipped by the Machinist, Monk, Archer, and Shikari.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings[]

Ninja Gear is a high-ranked armor for Vaan that provides +72 Defense, +48 Magick Defense, and +10 Speed. It can be bought in the shop for 16,000 gil and is rewarded for completing the Mission "Comfort Food".

Final Fantasy Tactics[]

This ninja clothing is suited to covert missions.

Description

The Ninja Gear (Secret Clothes in the PlayStation version) grants the user the Vanish status and a Speed boost of two, but only provides a minuscule HP boost of 20. It can be found in Midlight's Deep in the sixth floor with the Treasure Hunter ability. It can also be obtained via Rendezvous.

Description

The Ninja Gear provides a Speed boost of 1, an Evade boost of 2, and a physical Defense boost of 30. It teaches Last Haste to Ninjas and Beastmasters for 300 AP, and Bonecrusher Reaction ability to Fighters for 300 AP. It can be obtained by completing the Mission "The Big Find".

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]

Only the ninja know the techniques required to make this sturdy, stealthy gear.

Description

The Ninja Gear teaches Critical: Haste to Ninjas and Beastmasters, and provides +33 Defense, +6 Resistance, +1 Speed, and +5 Evasion. It can be bought for 1,700 gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Rabbit Tail, Emperor Scale, and Faerie Wing.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates[]

The Ninja Getup grants +12 Attack and +52 Defense.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King[]

Ninja Gear is a high-ranked robe, usable at level 80, and provides 75 Defense. It is bought for 3,082 gil.

Description

Ninja Getup is a mid-ranked armor that can be used by all races and genders. It provides 3 attack, 15 defense, and 3 magic at level 1, while at level 30 it provides 10 attack, 82 defense, and 10 magic. It also provides +15 to Stun resistance, has one empty slot, comes with the ability Ninja Lore 1, and can be bought for 640 gil.

It can also be obtained as a reward for completing the mission "Invisible Stalkers 1" on Normal, then created for 280 gil by using Dark Dust x5, three Silk x3, and Cockatrice Feather x2. When turned into a jewel, a level 3-9 Ninja Getup makes an Assassinite, level 10-19 makes a Dark Stone 2, and level 20-30 makes a Dark Stone 5.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light[]

Ninja Uniform is the Ninjas' special armor found randomly in the optional tower dungeons. It provides +20% Evasion.

The Shinobi Garb is a weaker variant and can be purchased in the Guera multiplayer shop for 1,000 points. It provides a 5% boost to Strength, Intelligence, and Spirit.

The Ninja Gear is level 62 clothing that raises HP by 1,760. It can be obtained by trading 14,770 gil, a Black Belt's Gi, Royal Wing x5, and Transmogridust x5.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

Ninja Gear is a level 60 clothing that provides +2,064 HP, +27 Bravery, -1 Defense, and +40% Stage Defense. It can be obtained by trading 69,480 gil, Black Belt's Gi, Walse Fabric, and Lion's Desire x5.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]

Ninja Gear (VI) is a 4★ armor relic for Shadow that boosts his MAX BRV by 220 when equipped on him; it can also be equipped by everyone else without the bonus. When mastered, the boost becomes a 2 CP passive ability. The relic can be obtained via the permanent Gem Exchange for 10 Gems each, having previously been available as a random result of any draw.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]

The black uniform of those who work from the shadows. It is jet black in color, which helps its wearer become one with the darkness. This garb is also tailored to fit the body perfectly, which allows ninjas to move swiftly without limitation, though it is impossible to tell where they hire their throwing weapons within it. By comparison, the jet black ninja gear is more often used by higher ranking ninjas, rather than those who have yet to climb through the ranks.

Description

Ninja Gear is a Clothes obtained by buying it for 1,000 gil at Lost Village of Marlo and by crafting it using 200 gil, x1 Dark Megacryst, x5 Abominable Wings, and x3 Corpse Flies. It provides 4 ATK and 20 DEF.

Etymology[]

A ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations.
