Ninja Claw (サドンデス, Sadon Desu?, lit. Sudden Death) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. It originates from Final Fantasy X as a claw weapon for Rikku with the ability to inflict Instant Death.

Etymology and origin[]
A ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations.
Hokode or shuko were steel claws used by ninja, the former being elongated steel shell tapered-clawed blades worn over the fist and the latter being akin to brass knuckles with extended talons. The former could be used to strike quickly and stealthily and parry weaponry, while the latter could be fitted over the palm to aid in scaling walls and cliff faces. Ninja knowledge and uses of poison and toxins, along with their surprise tactics, could often make use of these claws fatal.
Sudden Death refers to a purposed "final round" in sporting competitions where competitors win or lose on set victory conditions, often if there are kept scores and a draw game is met.
