Description

Ninja is a versatile Speed-type job that specializes in debilitating enemies through status ailments and agile attacks. True to tradition, this job serves as an evolution of the Thief job through its quick attack style that clears break gauges and the usage of the daggers and knuckles and the Samurai with the katana's slow but heavy-hitting combos and greater MP recovery from normal attacks. The passives they receive further rewards a sneaky playstyle with increased damage and break damage on Afflicted enemies and faster ailment accumulation on enemies.

What separates this job from others is the "Ninjutsu" job action. Gameplay[]
Similar to Final Fantasy XI, Ninja was originally designed to be an enfeebling and direct damage job, Ninja has developed into one of the two major tanking jobs. Where a Liberator relies on damage reduction based on high HP and Stamina, a Ninja's ability to tank relies almost entirely upon never getting hit. This form of tanking is often called Blink Tanking because it relies on Utsusemi, a Ninjutsu form of the spell Blink.
Strengths[]
An excellent means of tanking through the Utsusemi Ninja Tool, making it a great subjob for any job
Can easily inflict status ailments onto enemies, and when paired with Absolute Dominion, can land critical hits at all times.
MP-Efficient. Ninja will use less MP bars than any other job by nature of its job action.
Weaknesses[]
Very low Stamina. If caught without Utsusemi, the character will not survive any physical attacks.
Limited tools. Unless the Shadowmaster class is being used, they will run out quickly.
Their damage-dealing Ninjutsus are not very powerful.
Stats[]
The Ninja receives a stat bonus in both Agility and Intellect, providing increased break damage on critical hits, increased magical damage, and increased MP recovery.
Dragoon is an excellent support job for the Ninja, especially for its Jump ability which is helpful to evade attacks and deal powerful blows scaling from Agility. This can also aid in MP management with its innate Soul Shielding: MP Recovery and Lightbringer Duration.
Similar to Hunter, Tyrant is a good support job for any job, especially those that deal in Intellect. The Tyrant's Enchantments help to add elemental attributes to your attacks for the Ninja's normal attack and fill in for any elements the Ninja tools do not cover, leading to more elemental ailments and afflicted damage.
Monk probably remains the most popular support job for Ninjas at any level. The Monk's stats compliment Ninjas well and provide a moderate boost in total HP and means of quick attacks. Also, the Monk's Focus ability is useful for total damage output and damage mitigation.
Assassin is a good support job for the Ninja for its critical damage and MP recovery through Assassinate. When paired with the Absolute Dominion affinity or the Sniper Eye along with the Ravager class, it can lead to clearing break gauges easily.
[Attack Type: Slash] [Stat Bonus: Agility/Strength] Deliver two lightning-fast iai-giri slashes to savage your enemy. For a brief moment as you unleash your attacks, you will also guard against attacks.
[Attack Type: Pierce][Element: Water] [Stat Bonus: Intellect] Place a magic orb at long range from which currents of water flow and attack enemies. Hold [Ability] for successive attacks.
[Attack Type: Slash][Element: Fire] [Stat Bonus: Agility/Intellect] Whirl so fast that you draw nearby enemies towards you, then savage them with a slashing flame.
The Carnage Attire, similar to the FF1 Ninja sprite
