Night Lotus (ナイトロータス, Naito Rōtasu?) is a recurring shield in the Final Fantasy series. It is Lightning Farron's shield when she works as a savior in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Night Lotus is Lightning's default shield that also appears in key arts and pre-rendered cut scenes. It gives +500 HP and 50 Guard. In the final dungeon, it is upgraded into the Ultima Shield after Lightning passes all trials; she can then wield it for the final battle.

A war shield with a deep crimson hue from a distant world. As the end of Nova Chrysalia approached, the savior is said to have appeared donning this shield. When she managed to pass the Four Trials on the last day of the world, the Night Lotus was greatly enhanced as a result. Rumor has it that even its appearance and name changed following this upgrade, but no real details regarding this claim seem to be available.
Description
Night Lotus is a Heavy Shield that is obtained as the Trust Master reward from Savior of Souls Lightning. It provides ATK +50, DEF +140, MAG +50, SPR +95, and increases equipment ATK/MAG by 50% when single wielding any weapon with or without a shield.
