It requires Support crysts as materials.
- Limit Burst
Nichol's Limit Burst receives three different names depending on his rarity: Aqua Wave (アクアウェーブ, Akua Wēbu?), Marine Wave (マリンタイド, Marin Taido?, lit. - Ability Awakening
Maritime Strategist Nichol has five traits that can be enhanced: Calm Awareness, Magic Restorative Stance, Courageous Stance, Fortune Stance and Iceberg Stance. (JP-only)
- Limit Burst
Ancient Formula (エンシェントフォーミュラ, Enshento Fōmyura?) is Maritime Strategist Nichol's Limit Burst. As one of the so-called "CG units", Nichol's Limit Burst is a powerful ability preceded by FMV-like movie that lasts about 0:08 seconds. In his debut, he wasn't voiced, but after a later update he says "Makasete kudasai... Minna ni tatakau chikara wo." (任せてください みんなに戦う力を?, "Leave it to me... This is the power for everyone to fight.")
In the sequence, Nichol opens his grimoire while he adjusts his glasses, and magic runes surround him just before closing the book. He raises his arm to end the casting of the spell. Using Ancient Formula will greatly boost the party's stats (ATK, DEF, MAG, SPR) for three turns, remove stat reductions, and recover their HP and MP by 20%.
How much the party's stats increase will depend on Maritime Strategist Nichol's LB level:
Equipment
Maritime Strategist Nichol can equip the following weapon types: daggers, staves, rods and instruments.
He can equip the following armor types: hats, clothes, light armor and robes.
He can equip accessories.
Equpping his Trust Master reward (the robe Strategic Cape), or his Super Trust Master (the The Divine Art of War rod) in the JP version, triggers his Trust Ability "Defense Force Stratagem", which nullifies Confuse, and increases his DEF/SPR/HP by 20% and esper's bonus stats by 20%.
