Allusions[]
- Neon shares some similarities with Celes, the partner of her FR ability:
- Both are Runic users, with Celes's Runic as her default ability and Neon's Runic come from the job Void Knight, one of her exclusive jobs.
- Were on the opposing sides from the main party and joined them later.
- Tried to kill themselves after realizing their allies are dead, leaving them as the only survivor. Neon trying to become a Chaos, wished people kill her to end people dying in the hunt of Chaos. Celes jumping off the cliff when Cid died, thinking she is the only one alive in the ruined world.
- Neon pairs up with Lenna in the latter's Force Mode since both have an affiliation with fire and have put their life on the line for the sake of others.
- Some of Neon's abilities are based on the abilities used by her other forms:
- Asura and Inferno are the abilities used by Marilith, her fiend form.
- Firebringer, her Burst Ability, is the ability used by Chaos Advent, the form she took when Jack and his allies encounter her in Chaos Shrine. Neon also does the same pose Chaos Advent did before Jack's party battles her in Stranger of Paradise.
- The Sword of Fury EX Ability is based on the Red Mage job's combo ability Knight's Gambit, while Fiend of Fire is based on the job's unique ability Chainspell: Fire II.
- Rubicante took interest with Neon's true power may alludes to their status as the Four Fiends of their respective games and both are associated with Fire element.
