The musicians are characters from Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. They are spirits of Macalania Woods.

There are three known types: avian (Borra, Bayra), frog (Daraya, Donga), and mouse (Pukara, Pukutak). The musicians' existence coincides with that of the woods. They may have an affinity for music as the spirits met belong to Borra's band. They have an ear for prophecy as witnessed on their talks to Yuna about the fading woods and mention of the state of the Farplane.

The mouse musician always speaks in rhymes.

Final Fantasy X[edit | edit source]

The musicians make an appearance at the port of Luca when Grand Maester Mika and Maester Seymour arrive in the city.

They can be seen in Sphere Theater later in the game.

Final Fantasy X-2[edit | edit source]

The Musicians in Guadosalam.

Borra, Daraya, and Pukara are found on the North Wharf of Moonflow. If the Gullwings go to Macalania Woods, they can find Bayra walking on the light path, Donga on the southern lake, and Pukutak on the maze path. In Chapter 2, Brother picks up Borra, Daraya, and Pukara who play in an impromptu concert aboard the Celsius. If the player does the Track down the Troupe! mission, they can head to the northern lake to find Bayra and they request him to help Tobli. Bayra contacts his friends because it is not his right to decide for them. However, he receives no response since they've taken in the form of circles of butterflies. He tasks the Gullwings to search for them. The Gullwings can also find three miniature versions of the musicians. Once the Gullwings finish finding them, they all agree to help Tobli.

In Chapter 3, if the Gullwings find all three small musicians, they can visit the northern lake where they can speak to them for a small Amorphous Gel to appear. Speaking to it will give the Gullwings a Garment Grid. If the Gullwings defeat Garik Ronso, Tromell takes the musicians to Guadosalam. If the Gullwings complete the Track down the Troupe! mission, Tobli employs the musicians to play in his show.

Spoilers end here.
