Morse is a supporting character from Final Fantasy Type-0 Side Story: The Ice Reaper. He is an ex-Militesi soldier who defected from Milites.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Morse wears an altered version of the Militesi uniform with a tattered scarf. His hair is blond, put up in a messy half-shave with two chest-length braids. He wears two large belts that hold two guns and two katanas behind him. A vertical scar of unknown origin crosses the right side of his lip.

Personality[]

Known for being a traitor to his country, Morse is impulsive, reckless, and bloodthirsty. He has no problem killing anyone, be it Militesi or Rubrumite, and is set on interfering with Kurasame's status as one of the Four Champions of Rubrum. Internally, he is self-conscious about his inability to make a lasting mark on history.

Story[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)
Known as the "Boy Wonder of Milites" and the "Silver Savage", Morse was a military genius who graduated top of his class from the Imperial Military Academy at age seven. The youngest member of the Imperial Army, he mastered countless weapons and went on numerous missions for Milites before allegedly being arrested for treason against the state. He has since been removed from the nation's history.

Following Kurasame's attempted rescue of his Commanding Officer Takatsugu and the establishment of his title as the Ice Reaper, Morse attacks him on another mission, wiping out the Militesi soldiers present in order to fight with Kurasame. After proclaiming himself Kurasame's "mentor", he tells him to research his name before the next time he arrives to fight him.

While Kurasame is training Class Sixth, Morse appears again to fight him. Though he initially wins, he is surprised when his right arm is cut off at the shoulder. Ecstatic at the loss, he retreats.

He appears to challenge Kurasame one last time while he is alone on his mission to assassinate Cid Aulstyne. Revealing a fully functional prosthetic in place of his lost arm, he challenges Kurasame. At the end, his prosthetic arm is cut off and he is left alive, crying.

After Kurasame is left barely alive with Miwa's magic, having defeated Kotetsu, he is carried back to Emina and Akademeia by Morse, who announces interest in Kurasame's future.

Extra Chapter: "If Only..."[]

Similar to the "What If..." scenario in Final Fantasy Type-0, the extra chapter is a parallel timeline without war. Akademeia is holding a school festival where the students from other schools, including the Militesi Academy, are coming to enjoy the event. Everyone survives and Morse is a student of Milites under Qator Bashtar's mentorship, getting in a fight with Matin.
