Etymology[edit | edit source]

It is called Selene Guardian in the WiiWare version. Selene means "moon" in Greek. In Greek mythology, Selene is the goddess of the moon. She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun-god Helios, and of Eos, goddess of the dawn. Her equivalent in ancient Roman religion and myth is Luna, Latin for "moon".

A moon maiden is either a woman of the moon or a goddess of the moon.
