Rise like the Phoenix from the ashes! is the 2023 edition of the seasonal event Moonfire Faire in Final Fantasy XIV.
The event is started by accepting the sidequest Allergic to Sunshine by talking to Mayaru Moyaru at the Aftcastle in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:11.5 Y:13.8).
History[]
Mayaru Moyaru, who was calling for adventurers to attend the Moonfire Faire, informed Warrior of Light that in addition to the acclaimed Nimble Warrior course, the festivities were being guarded by a brave hero named Sunshine Savior. However, more help is always needed, and Mayaru Moyaru encourages Warrior of Light to speak with Haermaga to volunteer.
Haermaga has been given the Warrior of Light and asks for help in solving an urgent problem with the Sunshine Savior. A young man named Lyonell has been recruited for the role, Haermaga asks to lift his downcast spirits with some adventurer encouragement. As they meet with Lyonell, he reveals that the source of his distress is an aversion to having his face exposed to prying eyes. Haermaga says he has a solution to the problem and they ask to meet again at a certain location.

Soon the Warrior of Light meets Haermaga and Lyonell, now wearing a garish costume whose design was apparently commissioned by Haermaga himself. The costume has restored Lyonell's confidence, and he is ready to protect the visitors to the Moonfire Faire. However, Lyonell recognizes that he still has much to learn, and asks the Warrior of Light to help him until he can support himself as a beach protector.[2]
The Warrior of Light helped Lyonell spot any signs of trouble and offered advice on how best to keep the peace. After helping several visitors, Lyonell takes a break, and Beaudefoin arrives to take over guard duty.

After reporting back to Haermaga, he is pleased with Lyonell's progress and explains that his costume is inspired by the legendary Phoenix. Like the legendary bird, he hopes that Lyonell can be reborn and thus regain his lost confidence. This hope is soon tested when a huge shark emerges from the depths of the ocean and attacked the visitors. When Khloe was cornered by the monster, Lyonell without his mask, is forced to confront it in an impressive display of bravery.
After the fight, Lyonell is perplexed by his own actions. The presence of the Warrior of Light brings Lyonell back to his senses, and he is finally able to look into the eyes of the people he has saved. Although he appears to have suffered no more than superficial injuries, Haermaga instructs him to be examined nonetheless. Haermaga asks the Warrior of Light to join him in waiting for Lyonell to return, while you two keep an eye out for any other demons. Lyonell returns with a triumphant smile on his face. For his help to Lyonell, Haermaga makes the Warrior of Light an honorary Sunshine Savior, rewarding him with the same costume he gave Lyonell.[3]
