Members from the wolf genus. Most wolves fall under the beast classification and thus are affected by the Hunter's Monograph, but the undead Tartarus is instead affected by the Warmage's Monograph.
Monographs are items in Final Fantasy XII that allow the player to obtain additional loot drops from species of the associated classifications. All monographs appear in bazaars under the name "Forgotten Grimoire". While Rare Game may benefit from monographs, enemies classified as marks, bosses, Espers, humanoids, or imperial army are unaffected by any monograph, even if they may outwardly appear to be members of an affected genus.
Monographs do not improve the chances for regular drops and are unaffected by battle chain. Many enemies lack a special monograph drop and possessing the enemy type's monograph makes them drop Pebbles; a useless item. The actual percentage chance of the enemy yielding a monograph drop depends on the enemy in question; enemies that drop Pebbles have 30% chance of doing so, but the other items' chances vary. Monograph drops are often special items that sell for more gil than most regular loot. Monograph drops are often needed to make the best packs at the bazaar.
