Monk (Record Keeper ability type)

Monk is an ability type in Final Fantasy Record Keeper, and part of the Other category.

Mechanics

The Monk school is focused on dealing heavy damage to enemies, with several abilities raising the user's Attack (ATK) or having an increased critical hit rate. Monk abilities mostly deal Fire or Earth elemental damage, but there are other options.

Notable abilities in the Monk school include: Pressure Point, which can instantly KO a target; Piercing Strike, which has very high power and ignores Defense; the Rank 5 "Rush" series of attacks, which strike enemies for four hits of elemental damage with a high critical hit rate; and several Rank 6 abilities, the first of which was Lifebane.

Rank 6

Unlocking access to Rank 6 Monk abilities requires the individual character to be at Level 65 and have their second level cap broken, unlocking their Record Spheres. The player can then use Monk Motes to unlock access to Rank 6 Dragoon. Note that only characters with innate access to Rank 5 Monk will have the Empowered Sphere that includes access to Rank 6 Monk ; characters who must use their Record Spheres to access Rank 5 have no Empowered Sphere for Monk and cannot access Rank 6.
