The Mirage Manual (ミラージュ図鑑, Mirāju Zukan?, lit. Mirage Pictoral Book) is a feature in World of Final Fantasy that contains information pertaining to Mirages. It is located in The Twins' Room in Nine Wood Hills by examining the game console on the windowsill then selecting "Mirage Manual".
Each Mirage has its own page with detailed information:
- Elemental and ailment resistances.
- Size
- Transfigurations (if any)
- Initial stats
- Growth ratings
- Weight
- Abilities and Mirage Board spaces.
- The amount of times imprismed.
- Item drops (if any)
- Locations they can be encountered.
- Prismtunity objective (if any)
A (humorous) description for the Mirage is also included. The player can move the camera around, change the background, and can even play the battle animations for the Mirage.
When the player encounters a Mirage for the first time but has not yet imprismed it (or had a Mirage from the same family transfigured into it), a dull icon of the Mirage appears within the manual—the Mirage can be viewed, but does not display any further information. Once imprismed, the Mirage's icon retains its actual color and player can then view its information. Mirages that are unimprismable only need to be defeated to be added to the manual. Some story-related Mirages, such as Tama, are automatically added.
The player does not have to imprism or possess one of each Mirage type to earn 100% completion of the Mirage Manual on their file. The player can transfig a Mirage to a form that does not have a complete entry, but must confirm the selection within the Prism Case for it to count toward the percentage.
A Mirage that drops items can carry up to two. When playing a New Game+ file with Nightmare difficulty activated in the Maxima version, the Mirage will display its items only available while this difficulty is activated. Regular enemies encountered in the four EX dungeons may occasionally drop Arma Gems in addition to the items they already drop elsewhere—this is not mentioned in the Mirage Manual, and the player can view this information when viewng certain Mirages' information in battle within these dungeons.
A Mirage may have up to two locations listed in which they can be encountered again, in the "Main Habitats" section. The Mirage Manual only has two location slots, even if a Mirage can be fought again at more than two. Some story-related Mirages, or those fought only through Intervention quests do not have locations listed. Most Mirages that are encountered in bonus dungeons, such as the four EX dungeons (listed as ???) or the Hidden Dungeon (listed as ??????), do not have these locations listed in their entry—as the dungeons use portions of previous dungeons in Grymoire—but Mirages that are exclusive to these locations have them listed in their entry.
Obtining 100% completion for Mirage Manual unlocks the "Mirage Master" achievement. There are 210 entries in the core version of World of Final Fantasy, with the DLC bringing the total up to 230. The Maxima version includes seventeen new Mirages and thus brings the current total up to 247.

Etymology[]
Mirages are naturally-occurring, optical phenomena in which light rays are bent to produce displaced images of distant objects. The word "mirage" is of French origin and derived from the Latin mirari, which means "to look at" or "to wonder at".
Trivia[]
- Several Mirages have erroneous listings for their Main Habitats:
- Demivampire has Castle Exnine listed, despite not appearing in the dungeon at all.
- Sylphine has The Coliseum listed, even though it can only be encountered in the Hidden Dungeon.
- Mel's Main Habitat is listed as "Coliseum Reception", even though the navigable area in the Coliseum is referred to as "Administration Desk" on the map and the player's save file.
