Mirage Dive (ミラージュダイブ, Mirāju Daibu?), also known as Mirager, is an ability usually used by Locke Cole. It first appeared as his Desperation Attack in Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Template:Sideicon Mirage Dive is a Band ability that costs 32 MP and requires Edge's Ninjutsu and Kain's Jump in order to be executed. It summon clones to confuse and attack one enemy with an additional effect of casting Blink on Edge. Damage is reliant on Edge's Attack and Kain's Jump.

Final Fantasy VI

Template:Sideicon Mirage Dive is Locke's Desperation Attack. Mirage Dive deals magic damage to one enemy and has Attack Power of 139. In order for Locke to execute the ability, his HP must be in HP Critical state (1/8 of max HP or less) and Locke must use the Attack command in order for it to work; there's 1/16 chance of executing the attack in that state.

Etymology

Mirages are naturally-occurring, optical phenomena in which light rays are bent to produce displaced images of distant objects. The word "mirage" is of French origin and derived from the Latin mirari, which means "to look at" or "to wonder at".
