Mirage Dive (ミラージュダイブ, Mirāju Daibu?), also known as Mirager, is an ability usually used by Locke Cole. It first appeared as his Desperation Attack in Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[edit | edit source]
Mirage Dive is a Band ability that costs 32 MP and requires Edge's Ninjutsu and Kain's Jump. It summon clones to confuse and attack one enemy with an additional effect of casting Blink on Edge. Damage relies on Edge's Attack and Kain's Jump.
Final Fantasy VI[edit | edit source]
Mirage Dive is Locke's Desperation Attack that deals magic damage to one enemy and has Attack Power of 139. Locke's HP must be in HP Critical state (1/8 of max HP or less) when he uses the Attack command for a 1/16 chance of executing Mirage Dive instead of a normal attack.

Mirage Dive is Locke's initial HP Attack. Locke lunges at his target with an upward slash and once the hit connects, he assaults his target with six more slashes from around them before finishing it with an upward jump.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[edit | edit source]
Mirage Dive is an exclusive ability for Locke and can only be used if the player has his EX weapon, Assassin's Dagger, equipped. it is a 7-hit bravery attack that finishes off with an HP attack. Bravery can overflow Locke's MAX BRV up to 150%. When used, It grants Locke a buff called "Treasure Hunter" for 6 turns, which raises his MAX BRV, ATK, and SPD. It also recovers either HP or BRV after every turn he takes when "Treasure Hunter" is still active.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call[edit | edit source]
Mirage Dive is an exclusive reactive ability that costs 18 CP to equip. It is activated in Battle Music Sequences (BMS) when a boss-class enemy appears. It deals damage in direct proportion to Magic and Agility. It is learned by Locke (level 40).

Etymology[edit | edit source]
Mirages are naturally-occurring, optical phenomena in which light rays are bent to produce displaced images of distant objects. The word "mirage" is of French origin and derived from the Latin mirari, which means "to look at" or "to wonder at".
