A white wizard from the Mysidia, the land of mages, who delivered Firion and the others from death's door and fights against the invading Palamecia Empire as the rebel army's strategist. He wagered his life on unsealing Ultima, the ultimate magic spell, and entrusted Firion's party with returning peace to the world.

Minwu is a playable character in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who automatically joins the party in Act 3, Chapter 10, Part 2 of the main story.

- The animation of Minwu's EX ability, Soul Convergence is based on the scene when he broke the seal leading to Ultima Tome in Mysidian Tower.
- The name of Minwu's LD ability, Soul of Rebirth references the name of bonus quest in the Dawn of Souls, 20th Anniversary and 2010 versions of Final Fantasy II.
- Minwu is paired with Kurasame for his Force ability and is Serah's partner. The three are willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their worlds.
- Both Kurasame and Minwu wear masks to cover parts of their faces and were mentor figures of the protagonists' group.
