Description
Minerva Band is an armor in Final Fantasy VII. It can only be equipped by Tifa and Yuffie. Despite being able to be equipped to Aeris, it is obtained beyond the time the player has access to her.

Minerva Band is the female counterpart to the Escort Guard, providing protection against four different elements. Despite the elemental protection, Minerva Band is not as useful as one would think. While immunity to Fire and Ice is useful, at endgame either is rarely used. Fire protection matters mostly in the final dungeon and with Ruby Weapon, while Ice protection is useless at endgame. Gravity is only useful in the final boss battle, and no enemy uses Holy. If the player has obtained the Ziedrich or Mystile, those are recommended over the Minerva Band.
Etymology[]
Minerva is the Roman pantheon equivalent to the Greek goddess Athena. Her name is thought to be a mishearing and a corruption of the Latin word mens, meaning "mind".
In the Final Fantasy VII universe, Minerva is also a goddess-like entity associated with the lifestream.
