The Mine is an enemy from Final Fantasy II. A step up from the Grenade, it has triple the HP and a higher level self-destruct move, Self-Destruct V. A group of Mines guard a treasure chest containing Golden Armor on the fifth floor of Kashuan Keep. It is highly recommended to defeat them in one blow using Bolt or Fire spells, if they are leveled up enough, or strong physical attacks. They are otherwise not too big of a threat to a well-leveled party.
The bestiary entry for Mine may be permanently missed if they all Self-Destruct during the Kashuan Keep treasure chest encounter, and the player does not slay any on the world map before acquiring the Ultima Tome.
