Description
Mind Source is a stat-upgrading item item in Final Fantasy VII that permanently increases the Spirit of one character by 1. Spirit, when added to equipped armor and other bonuses, determines the character's Magic Defense stat.

Mind Source is the most difficult Source to farm out of all the Sources, as the only enemy always available to farm in the endgame is the Serpent in the Sunken Gelnika, which is a rare enemy in itself and only appears alone. It is best morphed with Yuffie's Conformer.
The black cloaks around current-day Nibelheim yield various stat-boosting sources when spoken to. The one outside the Mansion gives a Mind Source, but the text box has an error, saying "Mind Plus". Like in the quantum Potion bug, the same variable is used for obtaining this Mind Source as for the Luck Source obtained from the black cloak on the bottom floor of the Nibelheim inn; when the player picks up either one, the other registers as already being taken, so it is impossible to pick up both. Because players are likely to visit the inn before the mansion (as the party arrives from that side of the area), many likely never obtain the Mind Source.
