Appearances[]

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

Meteor Crusher is an aerial physical Bravery to HP attack for Tifa, learned at the start of the game. It requires 30 CP to equip (15 when mastered), 130 AP to master, and has Melee High priority. Meteor Crusher has a few variations to it. By holding down the button for a short time and then releasing it, Tifa will rush foe with a flurry of punches which crushes Guards and destroys stage elements. By holding down the button for a medium amount of time and then releasing it, it increases the distance the attack will go while retaining all of its normal attributes. By holding down the button for a long time and then releasing it, it greatly increases the distance the move will travel. If a HP attack is used during the charge, Tifa will unleash a flurry of punches on the spot. If the X button is pressed during the charge, Tifa will use a feint to cancel the charge at the opponent.

Etymology[]

A meteor or "shooting star" is the visible streak of light from a meteoroid or micrometeoroid, heated and glowing from entering the Earth's atmosphere, as it sheds glowing material in its wake. Meteors rarely explode in the Earth's atmosphere. The term has become associated with quickness with the adjective "meteoric". In the context of myth and superstition, meteors and comets sighted in Ancient and Medieval Europe were once held as ill omen, said to be the message of the heavens' displeasure of man's affairs to herald grave catastrophes.

Pieces that withstand atmospheric ablation are known as meteorites, but the name of the spell in the series refers to the overall phenomenon.
