The Memorist is a job in Final Fantasy Dimensions, obtained by the Warriors of Light in the "Forgotten Memories" chapter.

Appearance[]

The Warriors of Light are given a semi-futuristic design motif, dressed in signature-color frockcoats with shoulder pads and black pants with black boots, with what appears to be an intended pair of white hi-tech visor covering their eyes. In the Japanese mobile phone version, Sarah wears her hair tied up in a large bun as a Memorist, but in the iOS enhanced port, wears it in her standard style.

Statistics[]

The memorist's HP and MP stats are the same as the jobless, the other stats are always 10 regardless of job level or character's initial stat growth, plus the boosts from the collected memories and equipment. The guest character Argy has the same stats as the Memorist job plus its own stat growth.

Abilities[]

  • Innate: Memorandom, Recollect
  • Equipment: All except Holy Swords and Dark Swords

By selecting Memorandom in battle, the command bar changes to display four random commands which the character has learned (as well as Defend and Change). Once this is selected, all other normal commands (including Attack, F-Ability, and Item) are no longer available. Beginning at job level 10, the Memorandom command can also appear in the list, allowing you to generate a new list of four commands.

Magic commands accessed through Memorandom always allow access to the highest level of a magic type, regardless of the level of the command that the Memorist knows: White Magic grants access to level 8 spells, Black Magic grants access to level 7 spells, Red Magic grants access to both white 8 and black 7 (even though the Red Mage class is only grants level 4 spells), and Summon grants access to all eidolons known by the party (including dark world eidolons once you reach the World of Dusk). Additionally, Doublecast grants access to all of the above spells as well as Magic Blade, even for characters with no levels in other spellcasting classes. (Note that the only level 8 white spell that the entire party learns is Holy; Dispel and Arise must be learned by individual characters through the Seer class, and Memorandom only allows access to the ones a character has learned.)

Recollect is a passive ability which allows bonus points to be allocated to various stats; it becomes more powerful through the use of memories (see below).

Unlike other jobs, the Memorist doesn't have any ability slots. The standard 1% per job level stat boost applies to HP and MP, but is replaced by Recollect for other stats.

Memories[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Memories are glittering blue sparkles spread throughout the World of Light (all areas from Chapter 2 forward) and World of Dusk. They are located at the sites of major cutscenes, but only become visible when someone in the party is a Memorist. When the job is first obtained, it is possible to backtrack to previous chapters' locations by using rifts, which typically appear in the first and last inhabited areas of each chapter.

Once a memory is acquired, it appears in the party's inventory and can be used to increase a statistic by the amount indicated (Small = 3; Lovely = 5; Valuable = 10). These stat increases affect all Memorists in the party, and can't be allocated differently to different characters. Stat increases can be reset by talking to Argy after you gain the free use of the airship in the World of Dusk; this causes all memories to return to inventory, where they can then be assigned normally.
