Medusa is an undead enemy exclusive to Advance and the now discontinued 2013 Matrix Software versions of Final Fantasy V. Despite being a Lamia recolor, its name pays homage to the common enemy introduced in the original Final Fantasy.
Medusa is a dangerous enemy using petrifying attacks, such as Embrace and Evil Eye. She also uses Entice to cause confuse. Medusa can easily take out the whole party, so they should keep Gold Needles at hand. Medusa is susceptible to Level 3 Flare. As an undead, restoratives damage her.

Etymology[]
In Greek mythology Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone.
