Oh, shut up and help me remodel the Mecha Chocobo page!
Cogna. A chocobo made entirely of what appears to be machinery.
★SUI GENERIS: This unique soul belongs to the Mecha Chocobo from the main story.Mirage Manual entry
Mecha Chocobo is a minor character and boss in World of Final Fantasy. It's a Cogna resembling a chocobo (that, for reasons unknown, has a moogle residing in its body) that means to create a "new chocobo world order", as it believes chocobos are superior to humans.
Appearance[]
Mecha Chocobo is a Cogna that looks like an adult version of the Mecha Choco. It has black circles under its white, glowing eyes. Its "plumage" consists of three pointed adornments affixed to the back of its head, with yellow-tinted spires sticking out of each of them. Its "wings" are round and wide, and the undersides of them are a light shade of black. Its "tailfeathers" are sharp, lined with black, and contain a large thruster under them. It's "talons" are large, sharp, and contain a single large wheel under each of them.
Its main body is a simple spherical shape. The front of it has a hatch that leads to a compartment in its body, signified by the black outline that resembles the silhouette of a certain creature. In the center of the hatch is a small, rectangular slot with a portion cut out of the bottom of it.
The slot in the hatch shows very little of the being that resides within it, but it's enough to confirm that it's a moogle. Like most of its kind, the moogle sports yellow fur, slanted eyes, and a big, red nose.
Personality[]
Mecha Chocobo despises humans, believing chocobos are smarter than them and should be Grymoire's dominant species. Despite this, it doesn't seem to care about the well-being of its own brethren, as it has no qualms using Hyperion's power for its own and turning Boko into a Cogna against its will.
The moogle residing within it has no discernible personality, as it never speaks, and its existence is never acknowledged. It may have some level of malicious intent, however, as it can be argued it created Mecha Chocobo to masquerade as a chocobo and capture and turn said creatures into Cognas for some sort of scheme.
Who's Who[]
- Notes: Cogna / Transforming robot / But also a chocobo
- Hyperion's Enslaver
- With the powerful black chocobo Hyperion under its control, the Mecha Chocobo was plotting to create a new chocobo world order. Thankfully, Bartz and his friends were able to put a stop to its mecha machinations before they got off the ground.
- Cognification
- When the Mecha Chocobo saw the strength of Boko's mind, body, and spirit—honed as they were through years of travel with Bartz—it abducted Boko and attempted to transform him into a loyal Cogna. Luckily, Bartz and Chocolatte came to the rescue and thwarted the Mecha Chocobo's plans.
- However, don't count this villain out for good. It will not rest until it has all of Grymoire in its feathery grasp.
- Chocobo Interpreter
- Cogna, robot, or otherwise, a chocobo can only "kweh." Thankfully, Chocolatte's chocochick partner was able to "translate" the Mecha Chocobo's very thoughts into human speech. Even Bartz, able to converse with Boko as he is, was bowled over by this unprecedented miracle of linguistics.

Etymology[]
(チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".
The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
