Template:Sideicon Mayor of Thamasa is a non-player character in Final Fantasy VI. A cautious leader who is aware of the ancient War of the Magi, he wants to hide the truth of Thamasa from outsiders.
Story

When Relm is trapped in a burning house, her adoptive grandfather Strago tries to put out the flames with magic. The Mayor objects, but on the urgings of Strago and the townspeople agrees to an exception and joins in the effort. The flames prove too strong and Strago enters the house with Terra and Locke to find Relm.
It is unknown whether the Mayor and the villagers fought back in the Battle of Thamasa, but the battle ends in a decisive victory to Kefka, although the Mayor is relieved the local casualties were low.
The Mayor stays at his home afterwards, reflecting on how much the world has changed in the World of Ruin. Like all other Magi, he loses his magic powers following the defeat of Kefka.
