Quina casts Matra Magic.

Switches target's HP and MP.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance description

Matra Magic (マトラマジック, Matora Majikku?) is a recurring Blue Magic spell. It either deals damage equal to a certain percentage of the enemy's HP, or low-powered magic damage.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Final Fantasy VII[edit | edit source]

Non-elemental damage to all opponents

Description

Matra Magic is an Enemy Skill learned from Custom Sweeper, Bullmotor, and Death Machine. It inflicts light non-elemental damage on all enemies with spell power equal to 0.6875x the base magic damage. Despite its relatively low power, it is still rather useful in the early-game, thanks to its very early availability and its inexpensive MP cost of 8.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children[edit | edit source]

Kadaj casts a spell similar to Matra Magic while in possession of Cloud's Materia, firing a barrage of blue energy projectiles that spread out and converge on his target.

Final Fantasy IX[edit | edit source]

Reduces the target's HP to 1.

Description

If successful, Quina's Matra Magic reduces the target's HP to 1, but its accuracy is only 20%. It costs 8 MP to cast, and can be learned by eating a Trick Sparrow, Dragonfly, Zaghnol, Ogre, Land Worm, or Armstrong. It can't be reflected and works with Return Magic. It never works on bosses.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[edit | edit source]

Matra Magic switches the target's HP and MP. It can be learned from the Toughskin and costs 24 MP to cast. It is notable that if used when a target has 0 MP, the target will instantly be KO'd.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[edit | edit source]

Matra Magick switches the target's HP and MP about 50% of the time. The new MP system allows instant kills if enough MP is gained to use it before the opponent's act. It is learned from the Adamantitan and costs 22 MP to cast, and can hit targets up to 3 tiles away.
