Template:Sideicon An old rival of Louisoix Leveilleur and mentor of Y'shtola, Matoya was revered as one of Sharlayan's finest researchers. When the threat of the Garlean Empire makes itself known, Matoya was given the task to develop a means to repel the invaders. However the aether converger she created was deemed too dangerous for use and she retaliated by sealing a tome containing all her research and placed it in the forbidden section of the Great Gubal Library. From there, she remains in Sharlayan after everyone else fled to Eorzea.
