Oh, shut up and help me remodel the Maria (Final Fantasy II)/Opera Omnia page!
Firion's childhood friend. Though stout-hearted, she is not above shedding tears for her fallen comrades. To the Palamecian Emperor's incursion she loses her parents and is separated from her brother, Leon. Thus she joins the rebel army, hoping to return peace to the land.
Maria wears a halter top with the left side exposed, with purple leggings, gold sandals, and bracers on her wrists. Her left breast is covered with a gold cup and she wears a green brooch on her neck. She also wears various gold bands on her left arm and a quiver of arrows attached to a belt around her waist.
When Maria arrives, she is distressed by the apparent disappearance of her friends and is soon exhausted by the endless waves of monsters. She is forced to flee and hide and nearly loses hope until she finds a patch of wild roses in the forest. The sight of the flowers reminds her of her and her friends' determination, and she resolves to go on until she finds her friends.
She is overjoyed to find Firion again and teases him about joining a rebellion in a different world. He is likewise relieved to find her unharmed. Maria quickly agrees to join him and his new companions, and they express a hope that they might find their other friends from home, such as Guy and her brother Leon. Later, when the party finds their path forward blocked by an impassible wall, Maria eagerly suggests turning the airship's cannons on the problem. The others are shocked and talk her out of it, but she is obviously disappointed.
