Louisoix Leveilleur: Eorzea was destroyed by a force of unimaginable power raining down from the sky. It is the dawn of a new age!
The following article covers a subject from a previous version of Marauder Quests that has since been removed.

The following is a list of Marauder Quests from Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0.

Bloody Baptism[]

Journal
  • You've earned a place in the Executioners—an influential pirate crew in Limsa Lominsa—but you will be starting at the bottom of the bottom, and will have to work your way up if you want to earn any respect amongst your bandit brethren. Waekbyrt has pointed you in the general direction of one Nunuba to learn what you can do to ensure your new captain succeeds in claiming the Admiral's chair.
  • Nunuba gives you a...colorful...explanation of the Trident—a winner-takes-all race used to determine Limsa Lominsa's Admiral. Your part in the festivities involves traveling to Swiftperch Tower near the hamlet of Aleport and culling a few lemmings.
  • You were able to eliminate all the lemmings infesting the tower. Return to the Astalicia with the tails and report to Waekbyrt and Nunuba.

Two-man Crew[]

Journal
  • While chatting away with Waekbyrt below decks on the Astalicia, Rhoswen of the Sanguine Sirens and Carvallain of the Kraken's Arms enter and begin another of their heated debates—this time over who is best suited to be your new captain. It is in this awkward manner you learn of your immediate dismissal from the Bloody Executioners. Perhaps the scurvy dogs in the lounge can lift your spirits.
  • The scurviest of dogs in the lounge—a self-proclaimed pirate named Rostnsthal—has offered you a position as first mate in his shipless crew of one. After accepting (and making it a crew of two), your captain gives you your first assignment—to help him "procure" funds to rebuild a damaged ship he claims to have in dry dock. And to do this, he has suggested you break into the Kraken's Arms' lair and steal some of their loot!
  • You are able to collect several items of value from the Krakens' den. Return to the Astalicia and give them to Rostnsthal.
  • After patting you on the head for a job well done, Rostnsthal informs you of the second part of your mission. To prevent the Kraken's Arms from tracing the theft back to you and your captain, you are to take the stolen items to a merchant Rostnsthal knows in Ul'dah. Look for him on Sapphire Avenue.
  • You find the merchant Rostnsthal mentioned and are able to negotiate a more-than-fair price for the items. Return to the Astalicia where Rostnsthal awaits your return.

Captain's Orders[]

Journal
  • Waekbyrt has ordered you to pay a visit to the Astalicia captain. According to the pirate, not only is he the leader of the Bloody Executioners and founder of the Marauders' Guild, but also the most respected and most feared pirate in all of Limsa Lominsa.
  • Upon arriving at the captain's quarters, you are "greeted" by several imposing-looking grunts. When the grunts introduce you as Rostnsthal's first mate to an even more imposing-looking pirate standing ominously in the back of the room, the man grows irritated and barks a command to the men to do with you as they will. This does not seem like a fight you can win...
  • After losing consciousness, you wake up to find yourself in a dark room. Try seeing if you cannot find any clue as to where you've been stowed.
  • Upon checking a rum barrel, you find none other than your captain, Rostnsthal, squatting inside, the original contents of the wooden hogshead already consumed—presumably by the besotted man swaying precariously before you. He tells you in his slurred speech that you are in a warehouse of some shady maritime trading company, and that he's here to find an item of value...for reasons you cannot discern. For now, return to the Astalicia and wait for your captain's next orders.
  • Waekbyrt informs you that the captain of the Astalicia is now looking for you. You'd best find Rostnsthal before the captain sends his grunts to finish what they began. Your gut tells you that he is probably in the lounge...in his cups.
  • As you enter the lounge, you are greeted by an angry band of Krakens and Sirens. Luckily, Rostnsthal arrives on the scene to save you from becoming a bloody stain on the floor, afterward telling you to meet him above decks for a captain-to-first mate council.
  • On the deck of the Astalicia, below the endless skies, and witnessed by the eternal sea, Rostnsthal pledges that he will never betray you, if you only put your complete trust in him. He then proceeds to put that trust to the test by having you deliver to the captain of the Bloody Executioners the Kraken register he stole.
  • The ship rings with applause upon your victory over Moenskaet the Honorbound and his men. Now whether this is in response to your prowess with a blade, or to the fact that the pirates were pleased with you returning the Kraken register (which just happened to fall out of your pack as you dealt your opponent the final blows), no one will ever know. Hurry to the lounge and tell Rostnsthal what transpired.
  • After using the Echo to peer into Rostnsthal's past, you find that the perpetually besotted pirate had tried to sell the Kraken register to Commodore Reyner of the Knights of the Barracuda. While this piece of information might best be left unspoken, a quick report to Waekbyrt of the Bloody Executioners is highly recommended if you wish to restore your place on the Astalicia.
