Battle[edit | edit source]

Doom (iOS).

Malboro Menace is a semi-dangerous foe due to its Doom ability and thus needs to be defeated quickly. Menace Malboros also have access to their traditional Bad Breath and Bile attacks, and will follow a strict pattern of Doom > Attack > Bile > Attack > Bad Breath > Attack, and will then repeat the pattern starting back at Doom.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Quake, Flare, Leviathan, and Bahamut are prime choices for magic-based attacks, while physical attacks should focus on using their best abilities at the time. Malboro Menaces can also inflict Sap and moderate non-elemental damage to the party with their Bile ability as well.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

"Malboro" may derive from the Japanese onomatopoeia boro, the sound of an upset stomach. The word mal, means something bad or illness. The name could also be a reference to Marlboro Cigarettes, since the creatures often spew horrid fumes.
