The Malboro is a field boss in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers found in the Eastern Wildlands.
Battle[]
Malboro has multiple tentacles protecting it, each one with different effects depending on its color; Red ones shoot fire balls, Blue ones use a spit water blast, Gold ones spit gold, and the Green one heals the core. Its usually accompanied by Goblin Healers, so it is best to focus on getting rid of them and the Green tentacles because of their healing abilities. Throwing monsters at it is ill advised as a form of damaging it, because it may eat them and getting too close can sometimes make it attack with Bad Breath.
Because of this, it is best to throw rocks and also to try and use Cactuars on the area for their 1000 Needles special ability. It is also possible to turn its tentacles against it by spinning them and, with the right timing, make it bite itself. The tentacles, when they're destroyed, leave bulbs that can be used against the Malboro for different effects.
Etymology[]
The name may be a reference to Marlboro Cigarettes, since the creatures often spew horrid fumes from their mouths.
