The Maidenwater is a river and a fishing spot in Final Fantasy XV. The river runs west of Cleigne, the fishing spot being near the Malmalam Thicket; the party is prompted to make a detour this way in Chapter 6 when Iris is in the party as a guest. The fishing spot area has a campground with elemental deposits where the player can find a journal by Oric Gambell. Assault craft never spawn here. A collaboration quest with Terra Wars was added to the area in patch 1.26: Close Encounter of the Terra Kind.
The Maidenwater parking spot is further north, on the Ravatoghan Trail.
Shop[]
Fisherman's Friend is a man by the riverside near the Malmalam Thicket parking spot. He is around during daylight hours. Noctis's fishing level affects the prices:
- Level 3: Tackle shops offer a 10% discount
- Level 6: Tackle shops offer a 30% discount
- Level 9: Tackle shops offer a 50% discount

Along the footpath that leads down from the road the player can find an Earth Gemstone.
Enemies[]
Seadevils by the riverside.
The only enemies that spawn in the area near the fishing spot are seadevils near the bridge and near the dock. They spawn during daytime; at night time nothing spawns here. Assault craft also never deploy here. The player can fight the seadevils with Iris in the party in Chapter 6.

Close Encounter of the Terra Kind[]
Warp pad to the quest.
A collaboration quest was added in patch 1.26 where the player can find a warp pad in the Maidenwater area that whisks Noctis away to an event in another world where he teams up with Sarah from Terra Battle. The quest appears to the player's quest log in chapter 5.
