Description
The Magic Tag is a status healing item in Final Fantasy IX used to remove Zombie, a status abnormality that makes the affected undead and healing methods besides jewels and Tents do not work on them and they cannot be revived. Zombie is a rare status abnormality to contract, but there is no support ability to protect against it, meaning it is a good idea to keep some Magic Tags on hand as the Zombie status does not expire after battle (unless with Eiko's Guardian Mog).

A Magic Tag is present in Stiltzkin's item pack for sale on Conde Petie Mountain Path. Magic Tags are sold in shops for 100 gil apiece from Madain Sari onward.
Six Magic Tags are found in the Faraway Lagoon chocograph, reached once Choco can traverse shallow water and the player has the Blue Narciss to dig around in Chocobo's Lagoon. The player can then call for Choco at the Everland Island chocobo foot prints and traverse the shallows to the treasure spot at the western side of Forgotten Continent.
Magic Tag can drop from Zombie, and can also be stolen from Zombie, Whale Zombie, and Dracozombie. These are all undead enemies.

Magic Tags are used to remove Zombie status. This may be useful in the battles against the Dracozombie, Whale Zombie, and the final boss.
