Magic Defense Down (魔法防御ダウン, Mahō Bōgyo Daun?), also known as MDEF Down, Magic Def. Down, Magic Defense ↓ or MRes DOWN (魔防ダウン, Ma Bō Daun?), is a recurring status effect that reduces the target's Magic Defense.

Magic Def. Down, also known as MDEF Down, lowers the afflicted's Magic Defense, which can stack up to 10 times. Different abilities apply varying stack levels.
Mental Break and Quartet Knife apply 2 stacks, while Mental Eraser applies 3. Fingersnap nullifies Magic Def. Down from a target.
