Magic Break (マジックブレイク, Majikku Bureiku?), also known as Rend MP, Addle, and Rend Magick, attacks the target's Magic Power or their MP, similar to the ability Mind Break.

Final Fantasy X

FFX Magic Break

Magic Break in Final Fantasy X.

Magic Break is a skill found on Auron's section of the Sphere Grid. It costs 8 MP to perform and damages an enemy with a chance to apply the Magic Break status. It can be taught to an aeon with four Mana Springs.

Unlike the Magic Break skill, Auron's Banishing Blade Overdrive has a 100% chance of inflicting the status.

Final Fantasy X-2

Magic Break is a Swordplay ability that damages one enemy and lowers its Magic by 2 levels. It is learned by the Warrior dressphere for 30 AP, and costs 4 MP to use.

Final Fantasy XII

Ffxii Addle

Addle in Final Fantasy XII.

Addle is a Technick that reduces an enemy's Magick Power. It can be performed repeatedly on the same enemy.

In the original version, Addle lowers Magick Power by 50%, has a charge time of 45, and a base accuracy of 66%. It can be purchased in Rabanastre and Archades for 3,500 gil, and licensed for 30 LP.

In the Zodiac versions, Addle lowers Magick Power by 30% plus 1, has a charge time of 35, and a base accuracy of 45%. Enemies with the Safety augment are no longer immune to its effects. Addle is found in a treasure in the Special Charter Shaft of the Henne Mines, and has a 10% chance of appearing.
