Magic (まほう, Mahō?) is a skillset from Final Fantasy VII. A player gains access to the skillset after equipping any Magic Materia, however the player will only have access to skills relevant to which Magic Materia is equipped and the level of the Magic Materia. Some Magic Materia do not grant any Magic abilities until they are level 2.
Each Materia may have a range of spells. Many use tiered spells that give stronger magic the higher the level, albeit for a greater MP cost.
The Master Magic Materia will give the command and all of its abilities.

The abilities in the Magic skillset can be divided into four types of spell. The game allows the player to choose the order the types of spell are placed in the battle menu through the "Magic order" selection in the Config menu. The user can choose the order of restore, attack, and indirect magic, while the other is always the last section regardless.
The order is "restore attack indirect" by default.
