Mage is an enemy in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest appearing as old, cloaked proficient spell caster found in the Ice Pyramid. Mage can Silence the party and restore lost HP by using Cure. First it levitates in a meditative position, his hood raised so only his eyes and beard can be seen. After taking some damage, his hood is retracted, the balls he was levitating fall to the floor, and he has his hand reached out in a pleading manner.

It is called Darius in the German version. Darius was the third ruler of the Persian Empire. He was notably the ruler of the Persians who attacked Greece during the Persian Wars.
