Final Fantasy Wiki

I shall teach you everything about the ways of war.

Machérie

Machérie Hourne (pronounced /ma-shu-REE/ without its French accent) is the deuteragonist of War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Known as the Beautiful Steel Maiden, she is the princess of Hourne, one of the five warring houses of Ardra. While she is apt in white magic, it is implied that Machérie may hold something of far greater worth.

Initially, the Leonis clan encounters Lady Machérie as they set out to investigate bandits in the area. Accompanied by Schuzelt, a young and brash guardsman of Hourne, Machérie joins the party seeking their protection.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Machérie is a young lady with long blonde hair tied into a low ponytail and blue eyes. She wears a long pink dress with a white coat with black and gold details and pink shoes. Around her neck a golden necklace with a blue gem.

Personality[]

Machérie is a tough, no nonsense, intelligent, and hardened woman. She knows the importance of her position, and is knowledgeable of the intricacies of war and politics.

Confident and with an air of authority, she comes out as brash, demanding, and arrogant, yet none is misplaced as she is well aware of her aptitude. Although she initially looks down on Mont because of his kindness, and his naive disposition, she knows of his potential and molds him into shape through strict demands and bossy flair.

Having spent time with the Leonis, she has come to view them as family. She worries for their sake about as much as she does for her local politics. Machérie eventually develops affection for Mont due to his kindness and resolve to protect those dear to him and his ideals to create a world devoid of war.

Contrary to her strong outward disposition, Machérie tends to hide her vulnerabilities, keeping them to herself and only disclosing herself with those she trusts the most.

Story[]

Gameplay[]

Machérie Hourne[]

The fortitudinous daughter of Robb, King of Hourne, who always follows things through to the end. She has confidence in her ability to read people. On the way to meet her in-laws-to-be, her carriage is attacked by an unidentified group of bandits, but this leads to her fateful encounter with Mont.

Character description

Machérie Hourne is a UR-unit of the Light element whose main job is Cleric, while her sub jobs are Monk and Black Mage. She can equip the following items: Mace, Hat, Clothing, Accessory. Her unit cost is 70.

Her Master Ability increases her own Max TP by 10% and AGI by 10%. Her Limit Burst is Radiant Twinstrike, which deals 2-Hit Dmg (L) to target & significantly raises own All Attack Res for 1 turn.

Machérie can be ran as a Cleric for supportive duties, as a Monk for physical aptitude, or as a Black Mage to capitalize on her Light element magic. She is still considered subpar because of her lack of remarkable abilities. Her most notorious trait is her resilience, having reasonably more HP than other magic users, but lacking the same offensive power. Her passives are versatile, as she can gain either HP, SPR, MAG boosts or Strike Damage boost.

It is generally recommended using her under her Black Mage subset as it provides the more effective abilities. Being a Light element unit, she faces stiff competition from other more useful units for resources, specially Healers or Tanks, many of which are also Light elemental.

One of the treasured artifacts handed down within the Kingdom of Hourne. While it isued to mark a member of the royal family, it is also highly valued as work of art. Though it is a beautiful embellishment to Machérie's collar, it also draws out her latent nobility.

Steel Maiden's Necklace description

Her Trust Master Reward is the Steel Maiden's Necklace accessory which bestows HP +342, DEF +5, SPR +8, Crit Avoid +6 and the Knight's Blessing ability, which recovers HP (M) of allies within area around self & bestows a barrier on allies within range that reduces Dmg (3 times).

Machérie (Winter)[]

Hmph... Why must I impart happiness unto others? ...Huh? Are you saying that you shall help me? So you are free this festive evening as well. I suppose I should say this before I forget, but...happy holidays.

Character description

Machérie (Winter) is a UR-rarity unit of the Fire element whose main job is Dragoon, while her sub jobs are Viking and Ranger. She can equip the following items: Spear, Helm, Armor, Accessory. Her unit cost is 80.

Her first Master Ability increases her own AGI by 10% and Ice Attack Resistance by 10%. Her second Master Ability further increases Fire unit allies' Max HP by 10% and Fire Attack by 15, as well as her own DEF Piercing Rate by 10. Her limit burst is Holy Night's Gift, which deals 2-Hit Dmg (L) to targets within range & raises own DEF for 3 turns.

A ribbon affixed with a holy bell. The bell, which has been purified in holy water, resounds with a tone that bestows blessings upon the living and brings respite to the souls of the deceased. Yet no such graces will be awarded to those who have made an enemy of its wearer—only decimation. The sound of the bell terrifies enemies on the precipice of battle, and it remains etched in their minds long after they have been handed their defeat.

Angel Ribbon description

Her Trust Master Reward is the Angel Ribbon accessory, which bestows HP +342, DEF +8, SPR +5, CRT AVO +9 and the Winter Harmony ability, which recovers AP of targets within area around self (excluding self).

Trousseau.

An ancient relic that possesses the inexplicable power to summon espers. It was given to Machérie by her father, King Robb of Hourne, to offer as a trousseau in her arranged marriage to King Muraga of Fennes. The offer of marriage was suggested by Sadali, the founder of the Church of the Crystal, as a way of urging Hourne to ally with Fennes against the encroaching threat of Rundall to the west. As part of this arrangement, Muraga's daughter Vinera would wed Prince Dario, and Machérie would wed into Fennes. Though Robb rejected the idea at first, Machérie's own insistence that it would be "for the sake of protecting Hourne" swayed him. In truth, Robb never believed the necklace would leave the kingdom except for in times of war. Given that he entrusted it to his daughter, one can appreciate how deep his love for his daughter runs.
