MP Absorption is a recurring effect in the Final Fantasy series. It allows the user to restore their MP by targeting one or more enemies, while potentially damaging enemies in the process. Some of these abilities can also affect an enemy's ability to use magic by lowering their MP, depending on the game.

The effect is most commonly seen with the Black Magic spell Osmose, the Blue Magic spell Magic Hammer, and the ability Lancet and the passive ability Absorb MP. Against undead or zombified targets, the effect tends to be reversed.
