M1: Shinra Electric Power Company, also known as Shinra Electric Company,[note 1] is the first series of missions in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. The missions primarily involve Zack Fair undergoing testing and training for the the Shinra Electric Power Company. The first set being missions for his own SOLDIER testing, the second are for the Shinra Army's training, while the others are for weapons testing.
Despite being the first series of missions, with M1-1-1 being the first mission in the game, the majority of the series's missions are not unlocked until later in the game's story.

Training Missions comprises battles in the Virtual Reality System. Unlike most missions, the Training Missions category comprise long continuous battles, which are fought against Shinra infantrymen. While the first training mission is the very first in the game, later training missions last significantly longer, but present an excellent opportunity to boost Zack's Buster Sword proficiency or unlock new Digital Mind Wave memories.
M1-1-1: Shinra's Basic Training[]
The first mission in the game is one battle against eight Sentry. The mission is mandatory to complete in chapter 1 as a tutorial mission, and can be completed with basic attacks.
Later, the mission presents a very good opportunity for the player to unlock DMW memories simply by leaving the mission going, as the damage dealt by the enemies is so minimal that Faerie Ring or another Auto Regen accessory left on will allow Zack to absorb the damage while the DMW keeps running in the background.
M1-1-2: Shinra's Advanced Training[]
The second mission in the series is unlocked much later in the game, upon beginning chapter 8, and involves a fight against Alert Head x1, Captain x1, Grenade Combatant x2 and Gun Bull Head x2.
M1-1-3: 50 Shinra Troopers[]
(Named 50 Shinra Troops in the original PSP release.)
The mission is unlocked by completing M1-1-2. As the namesake implies, the mission is a battle against 50 infantrymen, in this case 45 Chief Petty Officer and 5 Sergeant. As the enemies appear in mobs, using Quake, especially with Dualcast, is an effective way to clear them out.
M1-1-4: 100 Shinra Troopers[]
(Named 100 Shinra Troops in the PSP release.)
Unlocked for completing M1-1-3, this mission is near-identical in terms of the battle itself: waves of infantrymen are fought in succession, until 100 are defeated, and Quake is effective against them. In this case, the enemies are 90 Special Ops Officer and 10 Sergeant Major.
M1-1-5: 200 Shinra Troopers[]
(Named 200 Shinra Troops in the PSP release.)
Unlocked for completing M1-1-4, this mission is near-identical to the previous two, but this time the enemies fought are 180 Combatant and 20 Warrant Officer. At twenty rounds of enemies, this is a fairly lengthy mission to complete, but provides good opportunity to improve Buster Sword proficiency.
M1-1-6: 1,000 Shinra Troops[]
(Named 1000 Shinra Troopers in the PSP release.)
Unlocked for completing M1-1-5, this is a very lengthy mission that is identical to the previous three: a continuous battle against 900 Guard and 100 Ensign. Quake is necessary for this due to the length of the mission, as 100 rounds of enemies are fought in total.
In Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, because rewards from missions only carry over if a mission was complete, it is advisable not to repeat this mission after finishing it once, as it can take the player a very long time to complete. As such, players should choose other missions for DMW memories and Buster Sword proficiency.
