Lycaon was the son of Pelasgus and Meliboea, respectively king and queen of Arcadia, in the form of a wolf starting the myth that Lycaon, the founder of his own cult, became a wolf. Lycaon is also the son of King Priam and Laothoe of Troy. He was captured by Achilles as a slave but was freed. He was later killed by Achilles when the latter was in a rage after Patroclus' death by the hands of Hector.
grimalkin is an old or evil-looking female cat. The term stems from "grey" (the color) plus "malkin", an archaic term with several meanings (a cat, a low class woman, a weakling, a mop) derived from a hypocoristic form of the female name Maud. Scottish legend refers to the grimalkin as a faery cat that dwells in the highlands.
AGrimalkin was also the name of the witches' cat familiar in Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The term may derive from Beware the Cat (published 1570) by William Baldwin.
