Description
Lustrous Shield is an ability for Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Remake, provided by the 
Bladed Staff. It places a floating energy flower that acts as a shield, capable of blocking enemies' projectiles while also damaging the foes that come into contact with it.

Lustrous Shield is a support ability for Aerith that can also deal non-elemental magic damage. Aerith will conjure a magical shield in front of her target to block projectiles for 80 seconds. Up to 3 Lustrous Shields may be active at time. Aerith will have an interrupt defense of 40 while conjuring a Lustrous Shield.
Lustrous Shield will block ranged projectiles that hit it, preventing them from damaging and interrupting any party member behind it. When an enemy comes into contact with it, it will damage them slightly and can push them away. These hits have a power value of 2, and an interrupt strength of 50.

Lustrous Shield is a defensive ability that, when used correctly, can provide a lot of utility. It blocks pretty much any projectile, including some boss attacks, and provides some physical resistance for enemies to pass through. It can also deal some passive damage in contact with the enemy, similar to Tifa's Chi Trap. Aerith can summon up to three Lustrous Shields at the same time. However, its use is relegated to few situations dues to many of its drawbacks. For instance, the character must be standing directly behind the shield for it to take effect. Some melee enemies can also pass through the shield when they are using an attack.
Lustrous Shield is mostly useful during boss fights with telegraphed projectile attacks, such as Hell House in hard mode. It can also be used with Aerith's Arcane Ward and ATB Ward, to defend an area that she is already using to quickly cast spells from.
