Template:Sideicon Template:FFIV Enemies Lunar Odin is an optional boss in the Game Boy Advance port of Final Fantasy IV. It is fought during Cecil's Lunar Trial at the Lunar Ruins. When beaten, the player obtains the Lightbringer, which is Cecil's most powerful weapon depending on the good deeds he had done in the trial, and the Grimoire LO which, if used as an item, summons Lunar Odin to deal 9,999 damage to all enemies. Using up the Grimoire unlocks the trial door again.

Strategy

When you obtain the weapon from the king, equip it, then fight him. Lunar Odin starts off immediately with Zantetsuken which could kill your party if they are under 5,000 HP. Heal the damage with Curaja then start pummeling Lunar Odin with your most powerful attacks. Rydia should cast Bahamut, Flare, or Meteor every turn. Using Thundaga helps a lot, as it is Lunar Odin's weakness. And Rosa should continue to heal or use Holy. Lunar Odin will use Zantetsuken often throughout the battle after a few physical attacks, this happens right after Lunar Odin raises his sword. Eventually, he will cast Haste on himself, a sign he is preparing to use Zantetsuken twice in a row, which is virtually impossible to survive. If Lunar Odin is struck with a lightning attack, however, after a few turns he will die automatically regardless of HP. So an easy way to win is to cast Thundaga then just defend until he dies.

When defeated, the player can keep the Lightbringer and obtain the Grimoire LO.
