Longsword (ロングソード, Rongusōdo?) is a common recurring weapon in the series. It is often the first sword that can be bought or is one of the weakest swords. It is normally used by any class that can use a sword.

Longsword is a low to mid-ranked sword, used by Warriors, Knights, Ninjas, Red Mages, and Red Wizards. It is bought in Melmond for 1,200 gil or dropped by Garland. It has an Attack of 20, and an Accuracy of 10.
A sword with a long reach.
Longsword is the second weakest sword with Golden Sword being the weakest. It is used by Onion Knight, Knight, Dark Knight, Red Mage, Warrior, and Freelancer. It can be found in Altar Cave x3 and in Ur x1, and can be bought in Ur for 100 gil. It has an Attack of 10.
The Longsword is a low-ranked sword that grants 20 Attack and 35% Accuracy. It can be bought in Mythril, Mysidia, Baron (Ceodore's Tale), Damcyan, Kaipo, and Baron (Edward's Tale) for 450 gil, dropped by Sahagin Knight, or found in Damcyan (Edward's Tale). It is initially equipped on Biggs and Wedge (Ceodore's Tale). It can be equipped by Cecil, Ceodore, Kain, and Golbez.
Basic longsword. Can be used two-handed. Can be used with Spellblade.
The Long Sword is the second weakest sword, with Broad Sword being the weakest. Most classes that can equip swords can equip this, and it has an Attack power of 19. It can be bought in Carwen and Walse for 480 gil, and can be stolen from Ice Soldiers and Ice Commanders.
Longsword is a low-ranked sword that requires 15 LP to use at the Swords 1 license, and can be bought in Barheim Passage, Bhujerba, Nalbina Fortress, Rabanastre for 700 gil, and it has an Attack of 19. Swords are among the slower weapons with 2.88s charge, and 1.2s action time.
In the Zodiac versions, it now provides 20 Attack, 5 Evade, 32 CT, 5% combo rate, and requires the Swords 2 license for 25 LP. It can be bought in Rabanastre, Nalbina Fortress, Barheim Passage for 800 gil, or found as a treasure in Garamsythe Waterway (No. 10 Channel (Flooded)). It is initially equipped on Ashe. The Knight can equip it.
Simple weapon, favored for its ease of use.
Longsword is the weakest weapon for Vaan. It has an Attack of 10, Magick Attack of 5, and Attack speed of 60. It is Vaan's default weapon and it can also be bought from Tomaj's Sky Saloon shop for 300 gil in Chapter 3. It uses a generic sword sprite during battle.
This straight and sharp double-edged blade can be used for either stabbing or slashing.
Longsword is the second weakest sword, and can be bought in Chapter 1 for 900 gil at the outfitters or found as a rare treasure with the Treasure Hunter ability in Merchant City of Dorter. It has an Attack of 5 and Weapon Defense of 90%.
Longsword is the weakest knightsword. It only has an Attack power of 32 and can be bought for 380 gil at the start of the game.

The Longsword is the weakest greatsword, boosting a mere +5 Attack. It can be obtained in the Shop by trading 1830 gil.
Longsword is a level 1 greatsword that provides +6 Attack and -2 Defense. It can be obtained by trading 500 gil.
The Longsword is one of Tidus's unlockable weapons, and is based on the weapon's appearance from Final Fantasy X. It can be obtained either by random chance when redeeming a Treasure token, or by purchasing them from the Shop for 7,200 Gil. Like all other characters' weapons, having it equipped carries no advantages or disadvantages.

Though of higher quality than the broadsword, this blade is still standard issue for soldiers. Young warriors who want to stand out from their peers compete with one another in secret to see who can rid themselves of this weapon the quickest by replacing it with a much stronger one. However, most of them cannot afford better equipment given the poor salary of most soldiers.
