Lodestone description.[1]
A Dance to Remember was the 2023 edition of the seasonal event Little Ladies' Day in Final Fantasy XIV.
The event was started by accepting the sidequest
Inheritance by talking to the royal seneschal at Sunsilk Tapestries in Steps of Nald, Ul'dah (X:10.5 Y:8.6).
History[]
The royal seneschal has informed the Warrior of Light that for this year's Little Ladies' Day celebration, he and Aldiytha Thorne have formulated a plan to distribute replicas of an antique folding fan to all who attend the day's festivities. Seeking to learn more about the fan, Aldiytha took it upon herself to investigate its origins, but has since been forced to stop her research due to her frail constitution. To ease her burden, the royal seneschal begged the Warrior of Light to come to her aid.
At Aldiytha's request, the Warrior of Light meets with a reporter from the Mythril Eye and a historian. After returning with what they discovered, the Warrior of Light tells her that the fan that belonged to her mother. Aldiytha learns that the tradition was passed down in her family and that her mother knew the dance herself. Curious, she asked the warrior to go to the Sapphire Avenue Exchange and look for affluent people who might've seen her mother dance in the past.
The Warrior finds a noblewoman who was a close friend of Claudia and tells them they can teach Aldiytha the dance. After she does so, Aldiytha realizes that her father hid it from her because it was exhausting for those of frail composition like her. Rodolph shows up out of breath and worried as she left the manor without saying a word, and that her father was looking for her. She seeks to meet up with her father with the Warrior by her side.

After she understands her father's reasoning for hiding the truth, she dances the little ladies' dance in order for him to experience the same joy he felt before with her mother. After listening to her heartfelt wish, he tells her he will not dissuade her from doing the dance if that is her wish. She wishes to teach others the dance including its history and everyone with fans.[2]
