Marquis Elmdore in his castle.
Home to Marquis Elmdore, liege lord of Limberry, this beautiful white castle rests on the shores of Loch Dalla.
Description in The Ivalice Chronicles
Limberry Castle (ランベリー城, Ranberī-jou?) is the stronghold of Marquis Messam Elmdore in Final Fantasy Tactics. The castle is said to be a stunning white structure known colloquially as the "Ivory Fortress".[1] It is where Ramza Beoulve fights Zalera. During the battle, Meliadoul Tengille learns the truth about her father Folmarv Tengille and defects to Ramza's side.

At the gate the party is ambushed by Celia, Lettie, and four Reavers. This battle is easy if Ramza's company is equipped with clothes which are anti-Stop/KO/Charmed, or if they are female so the assassins cannot charm them. Ramza and Luso can learn Ultima from Celia and Lettie during this battle.

Ramza has to square off against his old "friend", Argath, this time, as an undead. Deploying someone who can inflict Disable status (e.g. Mustadio, Balthier, Beowulf, or a mystic) is particularly important for this battle. After the battle, Argath cries out for his mother.

Dummied content[]
Gate of Limberry Castle.
A dummied out battlefield for the gate of Limberry Castle exists within the game data, even if no battle takes place on it during the actual game. If the player accesses this map with a cheating device, it appears fully playable without glitches. However, the barred gate in the front is impassible, lending credence that it may have been intended for a cutscene as there is no way for characters to get past the wall normally, unless the player equips Ignore Elevation/Teleport or uses chocobos to scale it.
