This epilogue, titled Conclusion of the Cycle (終章:輪廻の終わり, Shisho: Rinne no Owari?) is a retelling of Shade Impulse in the Story Mode of Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. This is the last chapter of Main Scenario 013: Light to All, and once again the player uses a party. This time, you must choose five of the ten Warriors of Cosmos to form a team, and may change the party at any time on the world map. The remaining warriors will randomly appear as Assists while in gateways.

Unlike Shade Impulse, this is a single long chapter instead of four parts as in Dissidia Final Fantasy, and the cutscenes where the Warriors of Cosmos confront their counterparts will play regardless of party composition. Of these, only Sephiroth, Cloud of Darkness, and Ultimecia can be skipped; the remaining seven are all in red gateways along the path to Chaos's throne.

Story

This chapter opens with the heroes gathering together, each holding his or her own respective crystals, ready to end the war between Chaos and Cosmos. But upon joining together, Chaos appears. He incinerates Cosmos, and disappears triumphant. The heroes, with Cosmos gone, begin to fade away. Exdeath and Kefka appear to despair the heroes in their final moments.

But the crystals kept the warriors of light alive, and they set out with a new resolve: to defeat Chaos. Making their way into the Land of Discord, they encounter Exdeath at The Rift. After learning the truth of the Crystals from him, that they are fragments of Cosmos's power and that collecting them doomed the goddess, the warriors strike him down and continue on their journey.

As they proceed to Chaos's lair, the warriors find and defeat Sephiroth, Kefka, the Cloud of Darkness, Kuja, Ultimecia, Jecht, Golbez, and the "pompous ass in gold", the Emperor. Nearing their destination, they are faced with Garland once more. Again, they fight and defeat him, but as he begins to fade away, Garland reveals to them Chaos's true motivations: the destruction of everything, including himself, for without Cosmos there's no other equal to him in this world.

With only limited time remaining until they too fade away, the warriors finally face Chaos upon his throne at the Edge of Discord and defeat him, bringing an end to the conflict at last. As everything begins to return to how it was meant to be, the warriors find themselves on a hillside near Cornelia in World A. The other Warriors of Cosmos fade back to their own respective worlds, and the Warrior of Light begins to stride toward the city, with his crystal in hand.

There is no chain skill to chain the other two enemies with the Party Battle Piece, but once it is defeated the tile at E2 appears and several combinations of chain skills and positioning allows access to them. Here and throughout the rest of the story, in each Gateway the player's Assist is chosen at random from the party members not in their current party.

There are several ways to chain the Party Battle Piece here with either of the remaining two Battle Pieces. A Round Chain or Cross Chain at C1 will chain the Strange Battle Piece with the Magic Critical Rate Up emblem, or a Cross Chain at E4 to chain with the Expert Battle Piece with the Initial BRV Boost emblem. A Straight Chain at B4 will also chain them, but without an emblem's effects.

Trivia

  • Because Exdeath is the first Warrior of Chaos encountered in this retelling, the cutscene with Terra's confrontation with Kefka makes slightly less sense this time, as Exdeath already told the warriors about the truth of the crystals.
  • Exdeath, The Emperor and Garland are the only characters against whom all the heroes have a unique line of dialogue when entering battle, against the other seven villains the heroes aside from that villain's rival use one of their generic introduction quotes.
  • Also in Shade Impulse, if the player confronted one of the other seven villains when their character was that villain's rival, a cutscene would play before and after the fight. In Light to All, all of these cutscenes are viewed regardless of which character(s) are fighting in the party.
